FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Chicken Steak with White Sauce

Serving chicken dishes is the most favourite in all the houses for Christmas occasion. It has been
a tradition to prepare chicken for Christmas dinner and people love having it.

Chicken Steak with White Sauce
Preparation time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 30 mins

Chicken Steak: White Sauce:
Large Chicken Breasts (boneless) – 4 Butter – 1 tbsp
Soy sauce – 2 tbsp Flour – 1 tsp
Ketchup – 2 tbsp Milk – ½ cup
Chilli Sauce – 2 tbsp Salt (a pinch)
Mustard paste – 2 tsp White pepper powder – ¼ tsp
Garlic (chopped) – 2 tsp. Cheese – 2 tabs
Red Chilli flakes – 1tsp
Black pepper powder – 1 tsp
White Vinegar – 1 tbsp
Salt (for taste)
Oil (to pan fry)
Note: You can prepare white sauce while the chicken steaks is left for cooking.
Procedure for Chicken Steak

Firstly, wipe the chicken breasts and beat them with a mallet or a knife to flatten the
chicken. Then cut each of them into two pieces.
Secondly, take a big bowl and add salt, black pepper, red chilli flakes, soy sauce,
ketchup, chilli sauce, vinegar and mustard paste.
Place the chicken in the bowl and add finely chopped garlic to it.
Mix all the ingredients finely and marinate the chicken with it. Keep it aside for at least
30mins to rest.
Then, place a pan on high flame, add oil to it and fry the chicken in simmer (as chicken
breasts gets cooked faster) cover it with a lid to cook.
Once the chicken gets cooked on one side, change it to another side. Check it in regular

Procedure for White Sauce:

Add butter and oil to a pan and cook it for a while until the butter melts.
Then, add flour to the pan and stir it well while it gets cooked.
Later add milk, salt, white pepper to it and stir them well.
Add water to get proper consistency.
Stir it for a while and then leave it to cool down. (You can place the white sauce in
the refrigerator if preferable).
White sauce is ready to serve with chicken!
